Rite Aid hours, holidays, and savings

Rite Aid, founded in 1962 and headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, closed all of its remaining US stores in October 2025 after a second bankruptcy filing. Prescription files were transferred to nearby CVS, Walgreens, Albertsons, and Kroger pharmacies.

Rite Aid has closed. All remaining Rite Aid stores shut their doors in early October 2025 following the company's second Chapter 11 filing in May 2025. If you had a Rite Aid prescription, it was transferred to a nearby pharmacy — most files went to CVS, Walgreens, Albertsons, or Kroger. The schedules below are retained for historical reference.

Standard Rite Aid hours

Store hoursMonday–Saturday 8:00am–10:00pm, Sunday 9:00am–9:00pm
Pharmacy counterMonday–Friday 9:00am–9:00pm, Saturday 9:00am–6:00pm, Sunday 10:00am–6:00pm

The hours above are the chain-wide defaults. Individual stores adjust based on local market demand, lease terms with the surrounding shopping center, and staffing. The Rite Aid store locator publishes the exact hours for every location in JSON-LD format on the location page, and we use that data as the source of truth on every chain × city page on this site.

24-hour Rite Aid locations

Rite Aid does not operate true 24-hour stores at scale. A handful of urban locations stay open later than the chain average, but overnight prescription needs typically route to Walgreens or CVS in most markets.
